Dose:
- Adults spray 1-2 sprays of Nicorette QuickMist® into your mouth whenever you would normally smoke a cigarette or have cravings for a cigarette
- Use the second spray if your cravings do not dissapear within a few minutes. If 2 sprays are required, future doses may be delivered as 2 consecutive sprays
- For example if you smoke an average of 15 cigaretts per day you should use 1-2 sprays at least 15 times during the day
- You may use a maximum of 4 sprays per hour or 64 sprays per day
Cautions and Warnings:
- Keep out of reach and sight of children and pets
- Do not use if you are under 18 years of age, pregnant or breatfeeding or allergic to any of the ingredients
- If the dosage amount you are taking do not help you stop smoking, talk with your healthcare provider about using more than one type of nicotine replacement therapy at the same time
- Do not exceed maximum dose
- If you are using the product while trying to quit smoking but slip up and have a cigarette, you should not stop use of the product
- If you feel you need to use the product longer than 6 months to keep you from smoking, you should talk to your health care provider
- Ask your doctor before use if you have/had: a heart attack or stroke, chest pain (unstable angina) or resting angina, a heart condition that affects your heart rate or rhythm, high blood pressure that is not being controlled by medicines, severe liver or kidney disease, diabetes, an overactive thyroid gland, a tumour or the adrenal gland (phaeochromocytoma), stomach ulcer, esophagitis
- If you have diabetes you may need to monitor your blood sugar levels more closely than normal when you stop smoking and start using this product
- Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. This is especially important if you take medicines containing theophylline to treat asthma, clozapine for schizophrenia, ropinirole to treat Parkinson's disease
- Discontinue using and consult your doctor if irregular heartbeat or chest pain occurs or if severe persistent stomach upset (indigestion, heartburn) develops
- It can cause the same side effects as other ways of taking nicotine. The side effects generally depend on the dose you take. Some common side effects include: hiccups, headache, nausea; local effects of the spray such as tingling, burning sensation, inflammation or pain in the mouth, lips or throat or changes in taste perception; dryness of the mouth or throat, or increase amounts of saliva; feelings of indigestion; cough; pain or discomfort in the tummy (abdomen) or chest; vomiting, flatulence or diarrhea; tightness or numbness of the throat; feeling tired.
- The symptoms of overdose include nausea, vomiting, drooling, abdominal pain, diarrhea, sweating, headache, dizziness, disturbed hearing and vision and marked weakness. At high doses, these symptoms may be followed by low blood pressure, weak and irregular pulse, breathing difficulties, extreme exhaustion, circulatory collapse and general convulsions.
